Why Donations Matter

ArtHatch is more than a gallery. It is a nonprofit arts space where resident artists, teen artists, visiting artists, families, collectors, and neighbors meet through exhibitions, open studios, workshops, events, and public art projects.

Your donation helps keep that ecosystem active. It supports the space, materials, programming, music, exhibitions, and community access that make ArtHatch an active creative hub instead of a closed-door studio building.

Every Gift Helps

Smaller gifts add up and directly support the work of keeping ArtHatch open, active, and accessible. Every donor is thanked by name.

Giving through a donor-advised fund? Recognition benefits — your name on the donor wall, on our website, on an exhibition card, and in our annual letter — apply to your gift as usual. IRS rules do not allow a donor-advised fund grant to be exchanged for goods or services, so the wine, cookies, happy hour, and private gallery visit are not available on a DAF gift. You are welcome to claim those separately with a personal gift.

Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund

If you have a donor-advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab (DAFgiving360), Vanguard Charitable, BNY Mellon, National Philanthropic Trust, the San Diego Foundation, or any other sponsor, you can recommend a grant to ArtHatch. It usually takes about two minutes.

Log in to your fund, search for us by name or EIN, and enter the amount. That is the whole process.

Most sponsors let you schedule a recurring grant, so it happens once and then keeps going. It is the single most useful thing a donor can do for an organization our size, and almost nobody thinks to ask for it.

If your fund sends a check

Have it made payable to ArtHatch and mailed to 317 E Grand Ave, Suite B, Escondido, CA 92025.

Please tell us it is coming. Grants arrive from the sponsor, not from you, and they often carry no contact details — which means we have no way to thank the person who actually made the decision. Send a quick note to contact@arthatch.org and we will make sure you are recognized properly.

More Ways to Give

Some of the most effective ways to support ArtHatch are not a card payment. If any of these fit your situation, email contact@arthatch.org and we will walk you through it.

Monthly giving

A steady monthly gift is worth more to us than the same amount once a year, because it lets us commit to a teaching artist for a full term instead of hoping the money shows up.

Stock and appreciated securities

Giving stock directly, rather than selling it first, is usually the most tax-efficient way to make a large gift. We can accept a transfer.

IRA distributions

If you are 70½ or older, you can direct a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA to ArtHatch. It comes to us directly and can count toward your required minimum distribution.

Employer matching

Many companies match employee donations, and a surprising number of people never check. If yours does, your gift to ArtHatch may be worth double.

In-kind gifts

Art supplies, materials, framing, equipment, printing, and professional services all go straight into programming. Ask us what we need right now.

Including ArtHatch in your will

A bequest costs nothing today and helps make sure there is still an arts space on Grand Avenue in twenty years. We are happy to provide the language your attorney needs.

Stay in Touch

Exhibition openings, teen program news, open studios, and the occasional ask. Usually once or twice a month, never more.
