August Williams was born and raised in San Diego, California. The moment his father put a Polaroid camera in his hands at 12 years old he fell in love with photography. Later in life August moved to Texas to pursue his degree in Photography at Texas A and M University - Commerce. August has been featured in several shows and juried exhibitions in Texas. He is currently is working on his Thesis which focuses on how social media negatively impacts contemporary society.
Each one of Mr. Williams pieces reflects on social media issues. One issue in particular he focuses on is how it actually causes a disconnect between people in society due to limited person to person interactions. His latest work was recently in the Society for Photographic Education's South Central Regional Juried Student Exhibition. August is happy to have returned to his roots here in Escondido, CA where he is looking forward to finishing his Thesis and plans to continue to pursue his passion for photography.
