My paintings would best be described as dreamscapes, images from reality in an un-real situation or environment. Like a stand mirror that is growing roots into dry desert ground or a widow to daylight in a night sky. My paintings are unique, though my style is influenced by artists like Salvador Dali and Michael Parks. I choose to use mostly oil paints because of their ability to have a depth and saturation of color that I feel captures my subjects the best. I love having the ability to work with colors that I can continually manipulate until I feel they are right.
My artworks express the willingness I have to see beyond the normal and embrace what lies beneath the smile we show our world. It is a collection of the world and its people around me. I try to capture their secrets, their inner emotions and feelings, with my pencil and brush, to allow the viewer to capture their own deep emotional place.
I was born and raised in Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada. Through my schooling there I came to the realization that all I wanted to do in life was paint and create. So I packed up and moved to southern California, where I have continued my learning, painting, and creating. Since coming to live here, I have had the pleasure of being in many fine art shows and original works of mine now live in private and loving homes across the country.
