Robert Barry has been an artist for over 40 years. Urban landscape photography has been his primary area of interest. More recently he has added montage work to his portfolio.
A wide variety of artists have influenced his life and vision. Photographers like: Lee Friedlander, Harry Callahan, Paul Strand, and Ray Metzker for their views of the urban environment. Painters such as Richard Diebenkorn, Mark Rothko, and Gerhard Richter have a considerable impact for their visual logic and ability to evoke considerable feeling and spirit.
Robert has a Masters Degree in Art from San Francisco State University. He has been Professor of Photography at Palomar College since 1989.
"I am continually learning about visual perception. My goal is to incorporate my expanding view of the world and art into the tangible pieces that I create. Creating is a very high form of existence and I want to be producing important work enduringly."
